SoundBites: Conservatory Chamber Singers - Light out of Darkness
4 November 2009, Wednesday, 12.15pm
Orchestra Hall

A universal theme which is inherent in many cultural traditions: Out of darkness, the light returns. From death comes life. In man’s darkest times, music has been a source of that light – in refugee camps in Rwanda, singing and making music brought hope to displaced and impoverished refugees; as the terrible reality of the 9/11 terrorist attack settled on a shocked nation, people started to sing – songs of freedom and hope.
